December 9th, 2022 Health Report (draft)

๐Ÿ“Š Tracking Weight, Sleep, Gym (time), Swim, Biking, Hikes, Meditation, and Tennis in an Airtable. All of this information is tracked via apps on my Apple Watch or phone and I have to manually move it to the Airtable, but then it’s an easier to see all the data. (not yet viewable by others, coming soon!)

So, what do I see?

  1. Increase in swimming and weights means less cycling.
  2. 4 and a half hours of weights is a lot and makes me tired.
  3. Weight is pretty consistent, which means diet is preventing weight loss?
  4. Sleep is steady, but I catch up on the weekends.
  5. Meditation is low (not built into any other habits).

I’m a little too obsessed with weight, so I did a DEXA scan.

๐Ÿง  Mental Health: I realized this week that I’m frustrated and a little depressed. I feel like all I did was work this week and I found myself very frustrated by some aspects of my job. Not just frustrated, but angry at times. I was able to talk to some friends about this and get some perspective over the weekend, but I do have a lot my self esteem wrapped up in my job.

Having been deep in “startup life” before, I know there will be crunch times, but working 60+ hours a week limits my ability to exercise, socialize, read and just generally be a good and happy person. I do not buy in to the “grind” culture that is sold as a path to success in work. Working over 40 hours is a sign that something is wrong.
